~*`ROAR, Singapura~*`
*Greetings, my fellow Singaporeans. Today, it is the eve of Singapore's national day. Today, we shall count down for the next day. For the 41st birthday of our nation. Hurray!
*To, er, celebrate this, I've spent two days poem-ing, and here's the final product:
ROAR, Singapura!
Majulah Singapura;
Onwards, Singapore!
Once the Orang Luat’s Temasek,
A fishing village on pristine sand-shores.
Then Sir Raffles’ strategic port of trade,
Ships a-coming with cloth, spices and more…
And now, a bustling hub of much,
Home to four million, our dear Singapore!
From a humble past,
Down a long, winding path,
To the new-age present
Of a new millennium.
Looking down memory’s obstacle-d lane,
We’ve achieved much, my motherland.
Majulah Singapura;
Onwards, Singapore!
Like the brightly shining stars,
Like a swiftly rising crescent,
Youthful and bright and riding the tide,
Crimson as the blood of all mankind,
Yet pure and white and free;
Arising out of the stormy sea.
A clean-and-green garden city,
A glamorous multi-racial cosmopolis;
A sunny island set in the sea.
A fruit of our fore-fathers’ toil,
A nursery for our grandchildren and children,
A place where Singaporeans are proud to call ‘home’.
Majulah Singapura;
Onwards, Singapore!
For badges you have:
The voice-soaring National Anthem,
The daily-said Pledge,
The beaming beacon of a Merlion,
The mauve Miss Vanda Joaquim,
And last but not least,
The majestic rearing Lion.
For children you have:
Ever loyal citizens from
North, South, East and West
Multi-toned and multi-religious,
All united as one undivided populace.
Each bearing the blood of ancestors from far,
Each proud to say, “I’m Singaporean, hah!”
Majulah Singapura;
Onwards, Singapore!
Stars and crescents shine on me,
Together we’ve tried,
As we stood side by side,
Turning hopes into reality,
Together we make a difference,
We’ve built a nation with our hands.
Count on us Singapore,
You sunny island set in the sea.
属于自己, 属于我们的天地, 有爱有梦有情
Thanimaiyaalae payantha naadugal
Sama-sama menuju bahagia
One people, one nation, one Singapore.
Majulah Singapura;
Onwards, Singapore!
A Singaporean Singapore:
No matter how different,
No matter how alike,
Singapore’s unique,
We’re strong, we’re bright,
Come on close to feel our might!
So Lil’ Red Dotters,
Stand united now
Like never before,
Lift your manes up,
And 1…2…3
Give a Singapore ROAR~!
*Done. Is it okay? I hope that it is. The two stanzas, starting from 'Stars and crescents...' are actually the lyrics to the national day songs sng in the past few years. And part of it's in the 4 main languages of Singapore. Appreciate, people! And love Singapore! Have fun, Lil's Red Dotters!
